Joseph Anthony Germanotta Jr. was director of a company that runs an internet networking network. In a Catholic home her family was raised in the Manhattan's Upper East Side. The parents of her were enrolled at the Convent of the Sacred Heart an institution of the religious elite. She was very fond of music from the time she was an infant. She learned how to play the piano, and at thirteen she wrote her first music. She has participated in many open mic events. Her favorite singers were the Queen Michael Jackson Madonna and David Bowie. She graduated from New York University, Tisch School of Art she started taking music classes after her high school graduation. However, she didn't pursue her studies, and instead she quit and began her own musical career.
